Disciple Ship Voyage Sunday School Class

What would you do if you met Jesus’ disciple right here in the 21st century? Join the Disciple Ship Voyage (DSV) Sunday school class as we read a compelling journal that chronicles the conversations of Jake’s new found friend. Are you tired of going through the motions of Christianity and want to mine the depths of what it really means to live deeply in Christ? We invite you to the DSV adult Sunday school class as we begin reading and discussing our new book, So You Don’t Want to Go To Church Anymore, an Unexpected Journey, by Wayne Jacobsen and Dave Coleman. Books can be purchased on Amazon for about $10.00. (If you use the Amazon link on the DUMC webpage, a portion of your payment goes back to our Youth.)
The DSV class discusses a breadth of contemporary, action-oriented topics, often related to being better disciples in today’s world. Our class enjoys fellowship and passionate discussion in a comfortable, confessional, often food-filled environment.
The DSV class meets in the Library (lower level) every week from 9:30am-10:30am. We have read and discussed books like Treasures of the Transformed Life: Satisfying your Thirst for More, by John Ed Mathison; Max Lucado’s Cure for the Common Life, Matthew Sleeth’s Serve God, Save the Planet, and Joel Osteen’s Become a Better You.
Our class also enjoys supporting missions. At present, the Damascus HELP pantry shelves are low and need replenishing. As such, you are encouraged to bring your non-perishables and canned goods to our first class on 9/20. We’ll have a table at the Sunday School kickoff on 9/13.
