- The General Board of Church & Society for the United Methodist Church is one of many partners in the Christian Peace Witness that will be held in Washington, DC on March 6 & 7. The goal of the event is to “Claim a Vision of True Security.” Worship services and vigils will be held in the area. - Each day, about 77 people receive organ transplants. However, 19 people die each day waiting for transplants that can’t take place because of the shortage of donated organs. If anyone is interested in becoming an Organ Donor and in giving the gift of life, information is available at: www.organdonor.gov
- Journey Films announces that a one-hour version of The Power of Forgiveness will be shown on public television. In our area, it is scheduled for March 19 on Maryland Public Television, Channel 22 on Comcast. The film examines the role forgiveness can play in alleviating anger and grief, as well as the physical, mental and spiritual benefits that come with forgiveness. It also shows the Amish teaching on forgiveness that was demonstrated in the school shooting in Pennsylvania not long ago. We will give you more details concerning the time of the showing of the film in future articles.
