Mark your calendars! The Fannie Mae Help The Homeless Walkathon will take place on November 17th in the morning down on the National Mall. Again this year, Rick Barr, chairperson of the Church and Society Committee, would like to have anyone from the church that walks be his guest. Fannie Mae, Rick's employer, will waive the registration fee and contribute $50 for all walkers registered as his guest. You need to fill out a guest registration, let the church know you plan to walk and go to the special Fannie Mae registration booth down on the Mall to qualify. Other than that, enjoy the walk with the thousands of other participants that show up every year for this most important event. More information will be available in next months Beacon. So, plan to put on your walking shoes and walk for the homeless on November 17th!
