Report on Stand Up & Speak Out

After the Wednesday night dinner on October 17th, 50 people from DUMC joined with over 38,800,000 individuals from 110 countries around the world to declare that it was time to put into action a plan to bring help where it is most needed. Almost 39 million people took part in this event. That’s amazing. The challenge saw people physically and intentionally standing up against poverty, inequality and in support of the Millennium Development Goals. They spoke out to demand a more urgent political response to the growing crisis of global poverty.

Thank you to everyone who participated. More information can be found at www.standagainstpoverty.org.
