Children in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade and their parents are invited to join our Learning about Communion Classes held during Lent each year. The classes comprise five one-hour sessions, and both the child and his/her parent attend each session. Usually, two different classes are scheduled to accommodate the needs of our families.

Each class is limited to 10 families. A commitment to attend all five sessions is important, and will help to make the experience more meaningful to your child.

The children have lots of fun learning about communion, making commemorative banners, and even making home-made bread that is used in the final session when the class celebrates communion on the altar.

The curriculum for these classes was developed by teachers in our congregation, and we welcome other churches to use our curriculum! The curriculum files can be found here.
