How's Your Vision?
Not your eyesight, your view of the possibilities for the future here at DUMC!
The recently formed Long Range Steering (LRS) committee is in the process of developing a vision statement for our church. Starting Sunday, August 16 and continuing for 3 additional Sundays, we will be handing everyone a card with one question on it. It will be a thought provoking question about your view of DUMC in 5 to 10 years. The questions will be:
• What do you see in DUMC’s future? What types of events do you see occurring in the life of our church in the next 5-10 years?
• Who will DUMC serve in the next 5-10 years? And how will we serve?
• How will DUMC be drawn more to Jesus in the next 5-10 years? What events do you see occurring that bring us closer to God?
• How will DUMC go about making disciples in the next 5-10 years?
The LRS committee is asking you to prayerfully consider these questions and provide your responses. You can respond directly on the cards on the Sundays they are distributed, email your responses to moc.liamg|srl.cmud#moc.liamg|srl.cmud or drop them off / mail them to the church office. Everyone’s thoughts are important and needed as we develop our vision for the future. We thank you in advance for your contribution to this effort.

Building Committee Update
You may have noticed a few holes in the ground that have appeared over the past few weeks. That is the sign of progress on Phase one of our building project. Miss Utility has been on site, some test pits have been dug and soil borings are being dug. All this is in preparation to finalize our Storm Water Management Plan and obtain our permits to begin construction. Rick Kenney and Dave Lingrell have been laboring diligently all summer to wade through the morass known as the site engineering and permitting process. A major hurdle will soon be overcome as a resolution to the Reforestation Easement issue is nearly complete. This is truly a cause to celebrate as the process has been more than difficult than imagined. However, discussions with contractors are underway and it looks as though we may actually be under construction in November. Please continue to pray for a prompt completion of this process.
The Building on the Cross Campaign is now in the final four months. Donations continue to accrue. We are close to “on target” to reach our pledged amount of 2.07 million. Thanks be to God!
It is a testament to this congregation that we have not lost site of our vision even in these difficult times. Let us pray for a strong finish to our first campaign.
The Building Committee is seeking input from the entire congregation as we consider how to provide for future phases of our Master Plan. Please contact Bob Wilson (ten.nozirev|71nosliwgr#ten.nozirev|71nosliwgr) or Rick Kenney (ten.tsacmoc|yennektr#ten.tsacmoc|yennektr) with any suggestions, questions concerns or encouragement. We continue to meet on the second Saturday of each month and meetings are open to all who wish to attend.
